Prabowo set to become the first president to address the DPR on macroeconomic policy

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said that President Prabowo Subianto will become the first President of the Republic of Indonesia to deliver a speech on the Macro Economic Framework and the Core Policies of Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) at a plenary session of the DPR RI. The President is scheduled to attend the DPR RI plenary session at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (20 May). ‘I just checked earlier; perhaps this is the first time,’ Dasco said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Tuesday. He said that, in principle, the ministers who previously spoke on the KEM-PPKF represented the President. Therefore, a President could also present it directly. ‘That is entirely possible. This is an introduction to the preparation of APBN 2027,’ Dasco said. It is planned that the plenary session of the DPR RI will be held in the Nusantara Building or the ‘turtle building’. Staff at the DPR RI are now preparing the meeting. The DPR RI has also published the agenda for the plenary session tomorrow. The agenda items are: 1. The presentation of the Macro Economic Framework (KEM) and the Core Policies of Fiscal Policy (PPKF) for the 2027 Budget Year by the Government. 2. The report of the DPR Legislative Body on the Evaluation of the Second Amendment to the Prolegnas Priority Bill for 2026, followed by a decision. 3. The opinions of the Factions on the Draft Law initiated by Commission III regarding amendments to Law Number 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police, followed by a decision to become a DPR-proposed Bill.
