Prabowo Seen as Needing Quality Ministers to Face Heavy Challenges
State administration expert Feri Amsari assesses that the current global tensions arising from inter-state conflicts necessitate a measured and experience-based government response. In such conditions, the quality of the cabinet becomes a crucial factor.
Feri believes that a lineup of truly qualified ministers is needed to confront the volatile global situation. He states the importance of selecting ministers based on their quality.
“The President must be a leader who can select the quality of his cabinet. Unfortunately, the President is increasing the number of ministers rather than strengthening their quality,” said Feri to reporters on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
He assesses that adding more ministers does not automatically enhance government performance if not accompanied by adequate capacity and experience. Moreover, he says, the challenges faced are not only domestic but also have global impacts on the economy, energy, and national stability.
Feri also highlights the government’s response to various situations, from domestic disasters to global dynamics. From this, he sees an urgent need for experienced figures in the cabinet.
“From the President’s stance in facing local, national disasters, and now global ones, we know that the President needs quality people in his cabinet, not inexperienced novices without knowledge,” he stated.
Furthermore, he assesses that the government’s policy in responding to the developing global conflicts is not yet clear. According to him, this is inseparable from the cabinet formation process at the beginning of the administration.
“The unclear direction of government policy in handling this global conflict is the fruit of what the President sowed when forming his cabinet,” he said.
