Prabowo seeks a fair rule of law and welfare felt by all Indonesians
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto wants to realise a rule of law that applies fairly to all members of society, and welfare that can be felt by all Indonesians. He said this while delivering the Macro Economic Framework and the Key Points of Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) at the 19th Plenary Session of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the DPR/MPR complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
‘We want to realise the dream of our ancestors, Baldatun Thayyibatun wa Rabbun Ghafur — a prosperous land, good, and always receiving forgiveness and blessings from Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, the Almighty, the All-Powerful,’ he said.
In his address, President Prabowo said the government aims to present a country that guarantees justice, especially for those who are most marginalised, so that the law does not apply only to the powerful and the wealthy. ‘A country where the law is fair for all, especially guaranteeing justice for those most in need. Do not let the law be fair only for those who are powerful and who have a lot of money,’ added Prabowo.
The government, he said, wants to build Indonesia that is prosperous and blessed, in line with the ideals of the founders of the nation. ‘We want to see Indonesia where every citizen lives in harmony, in peace, with adequate clothing, food and shelter. We want Indonesia that is gemah ripah loh jinawi, toto tentrem kerto raharjo.’
Prabowo wants farmers to obtain abundant harvests with fair and sufficiently high sale prices, and fishermen to obtain safe fishing gear and catches of high value. He also mentioned fishermen who still have difficulty obtaining ice and diesel fuel for fishing.
Therefore, the government will intervene by building 5,000 fishermen villages within the next three years. This year, the government aims to inaugurate 1,386 fishermen villages.
The government will also build ice-making facilities, cold storage rooms, and dedicated fishermen’s fuel stations in every fishermen village.
‘Our fishermen must be empowered because they, in the end, will master our seas,’ he said.
The Head of State said the quality of education is determined by teachers who are excellent, enthusiastic, joyful, and able to set an example for the next generation. Therefore, improving teachers’ living conditions is a government priority.
The government also wants micro, small and medium enterprises to grow so that they can provide a good income for the majority of people.
‘And we want parents and those who are elderly and living on their own to live peacefully in old age, supported by a sufficient social security network,’ he said.
