Prabowo secures Rp61.25 trillion in commercial deals with France

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to France secured four commercial agreements worth US$3.5 billion (Rp61.25 trillion), strengthening bilateral economic ties.

Investment and Downstreaming Minister and BKPM Chief Rosan Roeslani stated the agreements were reached during the launch of the France-Indonesia High-Level Business Council on 28 May 2026. “This forum serves not only as a platform for business dialogue but also as a driver to promote investment, trade, and strategic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both countries,” he said.

The high-level business council launch was witnessed by President Prabowo and French President Emmanuel Macron. The council is co-chaired by MEDEF International’s Chair of the France-Indonesia Business Council and Danone CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique, alongside Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Chairman Anindya Bakrie.

Roeslani noted increased French business confidence in Indonesia due to its strategic partnership status and long-term growth prospects. “French business confidence in Indonesia continues to grow. The agreements demonstrate Indonesia is viewed as a strategic partner with strong long-term growth potential and a more competitive investment climate,” he added.

President Prabowo returned to Indonesia on Saturday (30 May) after completing his working visit to France. He was greeted at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita.
