Prabowo Secures Rp 380 Trillion Investment Commitment from Japan, Cabinet Secretary Teddy
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Japan has resulted in investments worth more than Rp 380 trillion. According to him, the scale of the incoming investment commitments serves as strong evidence that Indonesia is increasingly trusted as a primary global investment destination.
“It is proof that Indonesia is becoming a magnet for world investment. That is the first point. Secondly, it makes investments in Indonesia even more solid,” said Teddy after accompanying President Prabowo at the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum in Tokyo on Monday, 30 March 2026, quoted from a press release.
He explained that these investment commitments are part of the overall Indonesia-Japan cooperation agreements previously agreed upon. This demonstrates the continuity and consistency of the increasingly close economic relations between the two countries.
“So, the investments mentioned are part of the entire Indonesia-Japan agreements. Secondly, tomorrow afternoon, he will meet with around 12 of Japan’s largest businesspeople by the Minister of Investment and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources with the President, similar to what was done yesterday in America,” he said.
“Well, what is the conclusion? Essentially, with such large investments here, the President came, and Rp 380 trillion in investments arrived,” Teddy added.
Bilateral Meeting
Teddy stated that President Prabowo will continue his official visit to Japan with a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
This meeting is a continuation of the first day’s agenda of Prabowo’s visit, which included a meeting with the Emperor of Japan and the achievement of major investment commitments from Indonesia-Japan cooperation.
“So, in addition to meeting the Emperor today, and investments of around Rp 380 trillion, tomorrow the President will also meet with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi,” Teddy concluded.
