Prabowo Scheduled to Visit Russia in the Near Future
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to make a working visit to Russia in the near future.
“Yes, there is such a plan (to Russia),” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026).
However, Teddy was not yet willing to disclose details about the schedule of the official trip.
He asked the public to await official information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).
“But for certainty, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will convey it later,” he stated.
Nevertheless, according to him, the Head of State’s departure to a foreign country is to follow up on existing cooperations.
“There are several countries that have already cooperated, of course. For example, the President just returned from Japan yesterday, and perhaps the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has also conveyed it, there is an agreement related to oil with Japan,” he explained.
Regarding the planned visit of the Indonesian President to Russia, Teddy again asked to wait for official information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“For the next one, the confirmation will be tomorrow; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will certainly convey which countries have been confirmed to be visited by the President,” he said.
Previously reported, the Russian news agency TASS reported plans for a meeting between Putin and Prabowo.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the preparations.
However, he did not detail the timing of the meeting.
“I can confirm that preparations for that communication are indeed underway. We are preparing talks. We will announce it in due time,” Peskov said.
