Prabowo Scheduled to Visit Nagekeo, Earthquake Victims Hope for Housing Assistance
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to visit evacuation posts and inspect a number of damaged facilities in Nagekeo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Saturday (22/8/2026). Earthquake victims are hoping for housing assistance.
“We hope there will be housing assistance because our homes have been destroyed by the earthquake,” said one evacuee, Yohana Anjelika Seso, at the evacuation post at Berdikari Danga Field, Nagekeo, on Friday (21/8/2026) evening.
In addition to housing, they hope Prabowo will pay attention to schools, churches, mosques, and a number of other facilities that have also suffered damage.
According to Yohana, her evacuation post is still short of cooking ingredients such as garlic, shallots, and cooking oil. The daily menu consists only of instant noodles and eggs.
“We also need vegetables because every day it is only noodles and eggs,” explained the resident of Marapokot Village, Aesesa District, Nagekeo.
Another evacuee, Ferdinanda Dian, said they were very pleased to be visited by Prabowo so that he could witness first-hand the condition and situation of evacuees at each post.
“We are all happy that President Prabowo is coming. He will surely come here and see our condition directly,” said Ferdinanda.
