Prabowo Scheduled to Receive Visit from PM Anwar Ibrahim This Afternoon
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive a visit from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Jakarta on Friday (27/3) afternoon. The two national leaders are said to discuss several matters, including the current geopolitical situation.
The visit by PM Anwar Ibrahim was announced by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (26/3).
“Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim will make a special visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, on 27 March 2026, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto,” the statement read, as quoted on Friday (27/3).
The discussions during PM Anwar Ibrahim’s visit include the conflict in the Middle East and its impact on regional stability and the global economy, including implications for Malaysia and Indonesia.
Wisma Putra also assessed that these recent developments require comprehensive, careful, and coordinated discussions between the two countries to align positions and strengthen strategic cooperation in responding to the situation.
The meeting between the two leaders, according to Wisma Putra, is expected to intensify diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and ensure the continuity of global trade routes and supply chain distribution for both countries.
According to Wisma Putra, Indonesia and Malaysia can strengthen ASEAN’s role as a united bloc so that the region can act collectively in maintaining peace, preserving regional stability, and protecting economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
