Prabowo Scheduled to Inaugurate Meninting Dam in West Lombok This Friday
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate the Meninting Dam in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Friday (10/7). This will be Prabowo’s first working visit to Bumi Gora since being sworn in as president. NTB Provincial Government spokesperson Ahsanul Khalik stated that preparations to welcome Prabowo’s arrival have been finalised through a coordination meeting led by NTB Deputy Governor Indah Dhamayanti Putri. According to him, Prabowo will land using the presidential aircraft at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport (BIZAM) in Central Lombok. “We had a meeting earlier chaired by the Deputy Governor. The agenda concerns the President’s visit planned for Friday, 10 July. He is scheduled to inaugurate the Meninting Dam,” Khalik said on Wednesday (8/7/2026). After landing, Prabowo will immediately depart by helicopter to West Lombok to inaugurate the Meninting Dam. According to Khalik, Prabowo will also greet local residents coordinated by the West Lombok Regency Government. “For now, there are no other agendas. Currently, the agenda is solely for the inauguration of the Meninting Dam,” Khalik stated. After inaugurating the dam, Prabowo is scheduled to fly directly to Bali. Nevertheless, the NTB Provincial Government is still awaiting final coordination results with the Presidential Security Detail and the 162/Wira Bhakti Military Resort Command regarding possible changes or additional impromptu agendas. Meanwhile, Khalik mentioned that NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal will not waste the moment of Prabowo’s arrival in NTB. According to him, Iqbal has instructed regional apparatus organisations to submit data and strategic programme proposals to be presented directly to the President. “The Governor will convey the needs of West Nusa Tenggara across the 10 regencies and cities, so that the President will pay attention to the interests of the community and strategic programmes in NTB,” he concluded. The Meninting Dam is located in Bukit Tinggi Village, Gunung Sari District, West Lombok, NTB. The dam, with a capacity of approximately 13.14 million cubic metres, was built to meet irrigation needs, provide raw water, control flooding, and support micro-hydro and solar power plants. The dam is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) under construction since 2019.
