Prabowo Scheduled to Attend Oil Entrepreneurs Exhibition Tomorrow

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) Convention and Exhibition at ICE BSD on Wednesday, 20 May. ‘The President will attend the exhibition, you know, the oil entrepreneurs, the Indonesian Petroleum Association. So many oil entrepreneurs from across ASEAN are going to be present,’ said Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman at the Presidential Secretariat (KSP) office on Tuesday, 19 May. According to the IPA Convex Instagram account @IPAconvex_, the event will run for three days from 20 to 22 May 2026. In addition to attending IPA Convex, on Wednesday 20 May, Prabowo is also scheduled to deliver the Macroeconomic Framework and Key Fiscal Policy Principles in a DPR plenary session. Deputy Speaker of the DPR from the Gerindra Faction, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said Prabowo Subianto would be the first president to deliver that. He noted that previous presidents were represented by ministers at plenary sessions. In constitutional practice, Dasco said there is in fact no rule requiring the President to attend the DPR plenary in person. He added that a president could be represented by the relevant minister. However, there is also no prohibition on the President attending in person and delivering a speech. “I just checked a moment ago; perhaps this is the first time,” Dasco told reporters as he inspected the plenary chamber at the Parliament complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May. Separately, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi revealed Prabowo’s intention to attend the DPR plenary session to unify views and strengthen the nation’s economy. Pras also described this as a momentum for celebrating National Awakening Day, which falls on 20 May. National Awakening Day is observed each year on 20 May, marking the founding of Boedi Oetomo in 1908. “On 20 May, National Awakening Day, the President wants to use the momentum to once again unite our views and strengths as a nation, especially in carrying out the task of safeguarding our national economy,” Pras said in a short message on Tuesday, 19 May.
