Prabowo Scheduled to Attend IPDN Graduation in Jatinangor Tomorrow
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the graduation ceremony for cadets of the Institute of Internal Governance (IPDN) at the IPDN Jatinangor campus in West Java on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.
The head of state’s attendance is seen as a symbol of support for strengthening the quality of civil servants (ASN) through the state training institute.
Ahead of the event, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has ensured that all preparations continue to be refined. Deputy Home Affairs Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto said his side is currently focused on ensuring that the entire programme runs optimally should the President attend as scheduled.
“Yes, at the moment we are preparing for the President’s arrival in Jatinangor for the cadets’ graduation,” Bima Arya told reporters at the Presidential Palace complex in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, 28 July 2026.
According to Bima, Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian has already been at the IPDN campus to personally monitor all preparations ahead of the graduation ceremony.
“The Minister himself is currently at the IPDN campus preparing everything so it can be as good as possible. Hopefully there will be no changes to the agenda,” he said.
Nevertheless, Bima stressed that his side is still awaiting final confirmation regarding President Prabowo’s attendance at the event.
“We are still waiting for confirmation, we are still waiting for confirmation,” he explained.
This year’s IPDN graduation carries strategic significance, as the graduates will soon join the national bureaucracy, which currently comprises around 6.5 million civil servants.
That expectation was previously expressed by Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian when delivering a briefing to the top cadets of the XXXIII class of 2026 at the IPDN Jatinangor campus on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
According to Tito, the sheer number of civil servants means the government needs figures capable of driving bureaucratic reform from within.
“How can we make these 6.5 million (civil servants) all efficient? At the very least, the majority of them. We need agents of change. There must be agents of renewal who can change them,” he said.
Tito believes IPDN graduates possess different foundations compared to graduates of general universities. In addition to academic education in the field of governance, the cadets are also shaped through character development, discipline, integrity, physical fitness, and ideological mental readiness as the capital to carry out their duties as state officials.
