Prabowo Scheduled to Attend Easter Celebration in Manado
Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar stated that President Prabowo is scheduled to attend the National Easter Celebration 2026. The celebration will be held in Manado, North Sulawesi.
Nasaruddin hopes that the National Easter Celebration 2026 will proceed smoothly. “The peak of the National Easter Celebration 2026 will take place in Manado, North Sulawesi. May it go smoothly and successfully. President Prabowo Subianto is planned to attend,” said Nasaruddin in Jakarta, quoted from a written statement on the official Ministry of Religious Affairs website, on Friday, 3 April 2026.
Nasaruddin stated that the National Easter 2026 in Manado will be a national event. He also asked the organising committee to prepare the activities well and carefully.
The Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque also hopes that the National Easter Celebration 2026 can blend moments of togetherness among people of different faiths. “This year’s Easter celebration must be better than every previous year. All faiths can feel this celebration,” said Nasaruddin.
The Chairman of the National Easter Celebration 2026 Committee, Recky H. Langie, reported to Nasaruddin that the National Easter 2026 in Manado, North Sulawesi, will take place from 7-9 April 2026.
The peak is scheduled for 8 April 2026 and will be held in an open space. “We hope that the Minister of Religious Affairs can attend the 2026 Easter event,” said Recky.
In mid-March, Minister Nasaruddin reminded that several major religious holidays will occur close together or even simultaneously this year, namely Nyepi Day, Eid al-Fitr, and Easter. Nasaruddin invited religious leaders to strengthen messages of peace, brotherhood, and harmony to the community.
According to Nasaruddin, religious leaders have an important role in maintaining harmony and peace in the midst of Indonesia’s diverse society. “The momentum of these major religious days must strengthen brotherhood, not the opposite,” said Nasaruddin on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
He explained that every religious celebration brings universal values that encourage a better social life. Nyepi teaches reflection and self-control, Eid al-Fitr emphasises forgiveness and strengthening brotherhood, while Easter brings messages of hope and love.
