Prabowo Says Schoolchildren Like MBG: It Saves Their Money

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto said that schoolchildren greatly like the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which is one of his priority initiatives.

During a visit to the facilities at SMAN 1 Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026), Prabowo also observed the smooth distribution of MBG to the students.

“I also saw that the MBG is running smoothly, it’s good. The children also told me they like the MBG,” said Prabowo, in the Setpres YouTube broadcast on Wednesday.

The students told Prabowo that MBG allows them to save money.

Prabowo emphasised that he will continue to improve schools, given the importance of education.

He assessed that education is the key to the resurgence of the Indonesian nation.

“Every Indonesian child must be given the best education. Those who graduate must also be prepared to work well,” added Prabowo.
