Prabowo Says Police Have Succeeded in Maintaining Zero Terrorism Incidents

President Prabowo Subianto stated that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) have succeeded in maintaining a record of zero terrorism incidents in recent years. He made the remarks during a speech at a Polri event in Cikeas, West Java, on Wednesday.

Prabowo said that terrorism is one of the major threats to the nation. “I appreciate Polri’s success, together with other institutions, in continuing to uncover and dismantle thousands of narcotics cases and, together with the Ministry of Communication and Digital, in eradicating online gambling,” he said.

However, he reminded all parties not to be complacent. He noted that the challenges ahead are still significant. “Our people are still suffering from poverty, and this poverty is a direct result of corruption, smuggling, and illegal economic activities. Therefore, the challenge for you, the challenge for all of us, is still great and still many,” he said.
