Prabowo Says Peace is Very Expensive, References Wars in Lebanon to Iran
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto stated that the price of peace is very high.
The Head of State then alluded to the war situations in several countries, including Lebanon, Afghanistan, Sudan, and Iran.
“Peace is very expensive. Look at the news every day. Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Balochistan. Which country is not at war? Iran? Which country is not at war?” said Prabowo, while attending the groundbreaking ceremony for 13 phase II downstreaming projects in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026), quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube.
Prabowo also invited all elements of society to safeguard the Indonesian nation.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia also highlighted the differences existing in Indonesia, saying they should not lead to division.
According to him, differences in nation-building are a form of wealth.
“We should not let differences become barriers. We cover each other’s shortcomings. We remind each other of mistakes. We correct negligence immediately, right? The goal of all this is the good of the nation,” said Prabowo.
On the same occasion, Prabowo also mentioned that the war situations occurring in various countries also impact Indonesia.
He gave the example that the current war situation in Ukraine also affects Indonesia in terms of rising prices of wheat to oil.
At this moment, Prabowo once again reminded about the sense of nationalism and national unity.
“The only way to achieve a successful national resurgence is nationalism, love for the homeland, national unity,” he said.
