“Amid a global crisis, many countries are anxious. We must remain vigilant, but we are optimistic. We will face challenges in the coming months, but we have very strong and abundant resources,” he said in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday.

At the inauguration of an electric commercial vehicle assembly plant, he stressed the importance of energy conservation and the transition to clean and renewable energy.

He said the adoption of electric vehicles is one solution to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, which emit carbon dioxide.

He also expressed pride that Indonesia is capable of producing electric buses and trucks.

“Our plan is that by 2028 we will mass-produce electric sedans. We already have electric buses and trucks, and the capability is significant and a source of pride,” Prabowo said.

He added that the local content level in the production of electric buses and trucks has reached 40 percent.

“In the near future, perhaps in two years, it will reach 60 percent, and two years after that, 80 percent,” he said.

Earlier, he inaugurated the electric commercial vehicle assembly plant owned by PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas in Magelang.

He described the project as an important milestone in national industrial development and pledged continued support for its progress.
