Prabowo Says Government Has Renovated 83,907 Homes Through BSPS Programme
President Prabowo Subianto announced that the government has assisted in the renovation of 83,907 homes through the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) programme as of 30 June 2026. He stated that the government will continue to increase the number of homes repaired under the scheme.
The statement was made during his speech at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) in Jakarta on Friday (14/8/2026).
In addition to the renovation programme, Prabowo noted that the government is helping citizens to own homes through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP). He reported that the programme has already enabled nearly 100,000 families to secure homes, with subsidised mortgage credit reaching 90,878 debtors.
Prabowo stressed that a house represents more than just a physical structure or a financial asset for a family. “A house is not merely an asset. It is a place of shelter, a place for children to learn, and a place for families to grow,” he said.
He shared the story of Telma Humea from Manado, who previously lived in a house with a fragile foundation and damaged walls and roof. Through the BSPS programme, Telma’s family was able to repair their home. The President also recounted the experience of Andre Kawaru from Samarinda, who, after years of renting, finally owned a home thanks to the FLPP subsidised mortgage scheme. “For Mr Andre’s family and millions of Indonesians, a house is not just an asset. It is peace of mind, dignity, and a future,” Prabowo concluded.
