President Prabowo Subianto has said the Free Health Screening (CKG) programme has reached 108 million people since it was launched in February 2025.

“Since its launch in February 2025, the Free Health Screening programme has reached 108 million people,” Prabowo said in his state address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) and the House of Representatives (DPR) at the MPR/DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday.

The President detailed that in 2025, a total of 70.2 million people took part in the CKG programme. Meanwhile, by the end of June 2026, the number of participants had reached 59.5 million.

Prabowo said the programme is the government’s effort to maintain public health through early detection before illnesses develop into more serious conditions.

“The state must safeguard the health of the people before they become seriously ill,” Prabowo said.

The President said CKG services are now available at 10,255 community health centres (puskesmas) across 38 provinces. The government, Prabowo said, will continue to improve the implementation of the programme so that it becomes better and can reach a wider segment of the public.

However, Prabowo acknowledged that some members of the public remain reluctant to undergo health checks because they are worried about discovering the illnesses they may have.

“There are some of our people who are afraid of health checks, afraid of finding out what illness they have,” he said.

Prabowo even made a joke about health check habits by referring to members of the DPR.

“Perhaps DPR members also have not had health checks yet; their average blood sugar is certainly high, especially those from Central Java,” Prabowo said with a smile.

On Friday, the MPR, DPR and DPD held the MPR Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session, one of the agenda items being President Prabowo Subianto’s address for the delivery of the performance reports of state institutions and the state address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in conjunction with the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

In addition to the speech, the government will also screen a video of government performance achievements.

This annual session is a state agenda to welcome the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carries the theme “Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur” (A Sovereign, Just and Prosperous Indonesia).
