Prabowo Says Danantara Leadership Deserves State Honour, What Are the Reasons?
President Prabowo Subianto has said that the leadership of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) deserves a state honour star.
This recognition is based on various achievements made by Danantara, including improving the performance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
Prabowo conveyed this at the launch and groundbreaking of the 100 GWp (Gigawatt peak) Solar Power Plant (PLTS) project at the Java-Bali Sea Crossing Operation Monument in Gilimanuk, Jembrana Regency, Bali, on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.
“As an example of Danantara’s achievements, in my view it is something to be proud of. I think the Danantara leadership deserves a state honour star,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo explained that Danantara’s performance is one of the achievements to be proud of, particularly because of a significant increase in the earnings of a number of SOEs in less than two years.
He noted that the earnings of SOEs have increased by hundreds of percent within that period. In fact, a number of SOEs that had previously suffered losses for more than a decade, even decades, are now beginning to record profits.
“Several SOEs that had been losing money for more than ten years, for decades, are now starting to make a profit. The increase is sometimes beyond what we could have predicted,” he said.
Prabowo said these achievements cannot be separated from the leadership and integrity of Danantara’s management in managing state assets.
“This is because of leadership, because the Danantara leadership is honest and has a great love for the homeland,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo stressed that the management of all national assets and wealth must be carried out optimally, honestly, and based on a sense of responsibility and love for the people.
He said the government continues to strive to consolidate the strength of the state by ensuring that all national assets are managed as well as possible.
Prabowo also emphasised that the government will continue to tighten state financial management and eradicate various forms of budget leakage.
“We are not satisfied yet, we must be even stricter in managing all finances,” said Prabowo.
A number of state officials accompanied President Prabowo at the event, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) as well as CEO of Danantara Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono.
