Prabowo Says 2025 Investment Target Achieved Four Months Early
Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has stated that this year's investment target has already been achieved, with the realisation coming four months before the end of 2025. The milestone was based on a report from Investment and Downstreaming Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan P Roeslani.
"I was given a report by the Investment Minister that Indonesia's investment this month has already reached the target set by last year's state budget, the 2025 state budget. We have already reached the target this August, four months before the end of the year," said Prabowo, as quoted from the Indonesian Solidarity Party's YouTube channel on Monday (22/7/2025).
However, Prabowo did not specify the exact figure of investment realisation that had been achieved. On the same occasion, Prabowo also dismissed narratives suggesting Indonesia was in a difficult and bleak condition.
"We are on the right path. Efforts to make it seem as though Indonesia is in a difficult state, that Indonesia is in the dark, that Indonesia's economy has failed — these are attempts to dampen our spirit, and they are not true," Prabowo explained.
Previously, investment realisation in the second quarter of 2025 reached Rp 475 trillion, higher than the first quarter of 2025 figure of Rp 465 trillion.
"The first and second quarters are already secure. In Q1 we were able to release a figure of Rp 465 trillion, and in Q2 we have reached Rp 475 trillion," said the Deputy Investment Minister/Deputy Head of BKPM at the Pertamina Investor Day at The St. Regis Jakarta on Wednesday (16/7/2025).
In 2024, Indonesia had targeted investment of Rp 1,650 trillion, which was successfully achieved. The 2025 investment target was then set at Rp 1,905 trillion.
"Last year, against a target of Rp 1,650 trillion, we managed to achieve more than that at Rp 1,700 trillion. And this year, this ministry and this government have set an investment realisation target of Rp 1,905 trillion," he said.
