Prabowo Satisfied with Danantara's Performance and SOE Transformation

President Prabowo Subianto has given high praise to the performance of Danantara in accelerating the transformation of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). In an annual address at the Parliament Complex in Senayan on Friday (14/8/2026), the Head of State presented significant profit growth data as evidence of improved state asset management. According to the data presented by the President, a number of SOEs recorded impressive profit surges. PT Timah led with a profit growth of 804.7 percent, followed by Pupuk Indonesia at 253 percent and Semen Indonesia at 196.5 percent. In addition, Pegadaian recorded an 84.6 percent increase, Pertamina 80 percent, Pelindo 60.4 percent, BTN 40.8 percent, and Bank Mandiri 24.3 percent. Beyond profit growth, the transformation under Danantara has successfully turned around companies that were previously loss-making. Krakatau Steel and Kimia Farma are now reported to be booking profits, showing a consistent positive trend across various SOE sectors. Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Andre Rosiade, assessed that this achievement is the fruit of a strategic partnership between the legislature and Danantara Asset Management. He noted that the streamlining process of the number of SOEs currently being undertaken by Danantara has made state companies more effective and efficient. The presence of Danantara encourages SOEs to refocus on their core businesses and reduce activities that do not create added value. Through economies of scale and scope, synergy among SOEs is strengthened so that state assets are not merely recorded on balance sheets but generate real returns. Member of the House of Representatives from the Golkar faction, Bambang Soesatyo, stressed the importance of transparent and accountable restructuring. He stated that SOEs must be filled by healthy, professional, and productive companies capable of creating added value so as not to burden state finances. Communication observer Hendri Satrio assessed that Danantara has successfully answered public doubts that arose when the body was first established. He noted that Danantara plays a strategic and primary role in Indonesia’s development, at least in the first period of President Prabowo’s administration, and has restored public optimism that state assets can be managed more productively. This transformation marks a paradigm shift from mere state capital ownership to active and productive wealth management, aligning with President Prabowo’s vision that Indonesia’s wealth must be used for the greatest prosperity of the people.
