Prabowo Salutes and Greets Public After Attending Merdeka Night Carnival

President Prabowo Subianto concluded the Merdeka Night creative carnival held to celebrate Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day at the Monas area in Central Jakarta. After the carnival concluded, Prabowo took time to greet and thank the members of the public who were present.

According to detikcom’s observations at the scene on Monday evening (17/8/2026), before leaving the Monas area, Prabowo was seen standing inside the white Maung Garuda presidential vehicle. He greeted the crowd that filled the area.

Prabowo was seen pressing his palms together towards the public while occasionally bowing. Along his journey from the Monas field, Prabowo continued to stand and acknowledge the cheers of residents who were enthusiastic to see him up close.

Prabowo also saluted all the residents who were present. As he passed, Prabowo was seen standing through the open sunroof of the Maung vehicle.

He then greeted all the residents who had waited for the Merdeka Night creative carnival while giving a salute.

The public appeared enthusiastic when they saw Prabowo greeting and saluting from atop the Maung vehicle. They cheered while waving and recorded Prabowo on their mobile phones as he passed.

The Maung vehicle carrying Prabowo was seen heading towards Jalan MH Thamrin towards the HI Roundabout area. Prabowo’s vehicle was flanked by decorated vehicles from the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the National Police.
