Prabowo: Russia Plays Positive Role in Facing Global Geopolitical Conditions

President Prabowo Subianto praised Russia’s role amid the global geopolitical uncertainty. Prabowo assessed that Russia has played a very positive role in addressing the world’s turbulent situation.

This was conveyed by Prabowo during a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, as seen in the YouTube broadcast of the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat on Monday (13/4/2026). Prabowo said that the current global geopolitical situation is turbulent and continues to change rapidly.

“Then, Your Excellency, I have also come for consultations because the global geopolitical situation is experiencing very rapid developments and changes,” said Prabowo.

“We view that Russia has played a very positive role in facing this uncertain geopolitical condition,” he added.

Prabowo assessed that Russia has a fairly important role in global geopolitics. He emphasised the need for both countries to enhance cooperation in the energy and economic sectors amid these global challenges.

“Therefore, we feel it is very necessary to consult on how we face the future situation, and especially if possible, we continue to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the economic and energy sectors,” he said.

On that occasion, Putin stated that the two countries continue to forge strengthening cooperation in important sectors. These include the energy and agriculture sectors.

“We have often discussed opportunities to develop cooperation in those sectors, including talks on cooperation in energy, space, agriculture, industrial income, as well as the pharmaceutical sector,” said Putin.
