President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government has successfully saved Rp31.3 trillion in state finances during his administration. This was conveyed by Prabowo at the handover event of Rp11.1 trillion from the collection of forest administrative fines by the PKH Task Force at the Attorney General’s Office on Friday (10/4). He explained that the savings represent the total from several cases. First, Rp13.255 trillion in October 2024 from the crude palm oil (CPO) export facility corruption case. Then, savings of Rp6.625 trillion in December 2024. “Today, 10 April, we have successfully saved Rp11.42 trillion. Thus, the total cash saved up to today is Rp31.3 trillion,” said Prabowo. He explained that this amount of money could be used to repair 34,000 of our schools throughout Indonesia. The government had previously succeeded in repairing 17,000 schools. “This means the money can double the state budget allocation, where schools have not been repaired for decades,” he said. He stated that the money could also be used for renovating homes of low-income citizens. “This can repair more than 500,000 homes. That means it can benefit 2 million of our low-income citizens,” he added.
