Prabowo: Rp10 Trillion from Satgas PKH Can Renovate 5,000 Puskesmas

President Prabowo Subianto stated that state revenues amounting to Rp10.27 trillion from enforcement actions in the form of administrative fines and financial safeguards can be utilised to improve around 5,000 puskesmas across Indonesia. According to Prabowo, during the handover event of these enforcement results worth Rp10.27 trillion at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Wednesday, he had received a report from Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin that approximately 10,000 puskesmas in Indonesia have not been repaired for about 30 years. The estimated budget requirement for renovating one puskesmas is Rp2 billion, thus the total need for repairing 10,000 puskesmas amounts to around Rp20 trillion. Prabowo said that the Rp10 trillion received today can be used to complete the renovation of around 5,000 puskesmas. “I said, how much money do you need to repair 10,000? Approximately Rp2 billion per puskesmas. So, we need roughly Rp20 trillion. Actually, today means we can complete 5,000 puskesmas with Rp10 trillion,” said Prabowo. The President also revealed that next month, the state will receive additional revenues of around Rp10 trillion from the Satuan Tugas Penertiban Kawasan Hutan (Satgas PKH) as well as Rp39 trillion from the Pusat Pelaporan dan Analisis Transaksi Keuangan (PPATK). If these additional state revenues are realised, then all puskesmas can be repaired. Besides puskesmas, said Prabowo, the funds can also be used to repair schools that have not yet been renovated. “If next month truly Rp10 trillion more enters from Satgas, plus Rp39 trillion from PPATK, that means Rp49 trillion, so we can easily repair all puskesmas, and schools that haven’t been repaired can be fixed soon,” explained Prabowo. Prabowo added that in last year’s state budget, the government had repaired 17,000 schools. This year, the government is repairing 70,000 schools and targeting the repair of 100,000 schools next year as well as another 100,000 schools the following year. “In last year’s state budget, we already repaired 17,000 schools. This year, we are repairing 70,000 schools, next year we will repair 100,000, the year after that 100,000, and the year after that we will also complete all madrasahs and so on, we will repair everything,” said Prabowo.
