Prabowo: Riding the LRT is Pleasant

President Prabowo Subianto has officially inaugurated the Jakarta LRT Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route. During the inauguration, Prabowo expressed his satisfaction with the new service.

“Riding the LRT is pleasant,” Prabowo stated at Manggarai LRT Station on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

Prabowo also extended his gratitude to the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung. On this occasion, Prabowo described Pramono as a great governor who serves as an example for other regional leaders.

“Congratulations and thank you, Governor. I must admit there is a great governor, even though he is not from my party. But this should encourage other parties to work properly. Congratulations to Mr Pramono, and congratulations to Doel (Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno),” he remarked.

Prabow also expressed his happiness regarding the event, stating, “I am very happy today.”

The Kelapa Gading - Manggarai route spans 12.2 km with an investment value reaching Rp12.1 trillion. The introduction of this train reduces the travel time from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai to just 28 minutes.

This elevated light rail passes through 11 stations, including Kelapa Gading, Boulevard Utara Summarecon Mall, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, Velodrome, Rawamangun, Pramuka, Matraman, Proklamasi, and Manggarai, with a headway of only 11 minutes.

The Jakarta LRT is set for further development, with several Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) areas being prepared, such as TOD Jakarta International Stadium, TOD Pegangsaan Dua, and TOD Manggarai. These facilities will be integrated with MRT Jakarta, KRL Commuterline, LRT Jabodebek, Transjakarta, and the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway.

Several officials were present to accompany Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno, including Minister of Transportation Dudu Purwagandhi, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Commander of the TNI Agus Subiyanto.
