President Prabowo Subianto revealed one of his leadership principles, referred to as the “commander’s science,” which he says motivates his team to improve performance.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Marsinah Museum in Nganjuk Regency, East Java, on Saturday, President Prabowo used the cooperation between TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as an example of applying the “commander’s science.”

“I thank the TNI Commander and the TNI for their assistance. I also thank the Polri; the police have been extraordinary in supporting this process, including securing corn supplies and warehouses, as well as hundreds of MBG kitchens. Perhaps the police are now the most disciplined,” President Prabowo said to the TNI Commander and National Police Chief during the event.

“Indeed, a leader’s skill is to encourage competition among subordinates. So, when the TNI Commander is present, I praise the police. And when the National Police Chief is present, I praise the TNI. This way, they understand that this is the ‘commander’s science.’ The same approach applies to ministers,” President Prabowo continued, which drew laughter from several government officials.

In his speech at the Marsinah Museum inauguration, President Prabowo discussed various themes, including Marsinah as a national hero representing the labor movement. He also reiterated his frustration with some officials who abuse their positions and influence.

The President emphasized to his team, including the Financial Supervisory Agency (BPKP), to continue monitoring ministries/agencies and their officials, and not hesitate to take action against them, even if they have a close relationship with the President.

On the same occasion, President Prabowo also responded to pessimistic views previously expressed by some groups towards the government, particularly those who claimed that “Indonesia will collapse” or face chaos.

President Prabowo also addressed concerns about the weakening trend of the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar.

According to the President, the current domestic situation is stable, as evidenced by sufficient food and energy supplies.

“People in villages don’t use dollars, do they? Food and energy are secure. Many countries are panicking, but Indonesia is still doing well,” Prabowo said. (Ant)
