President Prabowo Subianto has revealed that Indonesia will soon have a domestically produced electric motorcycle. Prabowo disclosed that he will personally launch the national electric motorbike in the near future. “Soon we will have a national motorcycle. I will launch it in the next few weeks. A national electric motorcycle,” Prabowo said while leading the TNI Grand Harvest at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base in Malang Regency, East Java, on Friday (17/7/2026). Prabowo expressed hope that the public will be able to use the electric motorcycle to support their daily activities. He also wants Indonesian farmers to be able to utilise this environmentally friendly vehicle. “I hope that later our farmers will at least ride motorcycles, electric motorcycles. Who knows, later everyone might be using cars,” he said. Furthermore, Prabowo conveyed that Indonesia will also have a national car made by the nation’s own children in the future. He emphasised his commitment to bringing Indonesia to become a developed and self-reliant nation. “But we now want to be a nation that rises, brothers and sisters. We will have motorcycles made by Indonesian children. We will have cars made by Indonesian children. Now the TNI and Polri are already using jeeps made by Indonesian sons and daughters,” Prabowo asserted. A number of officials accompanied President Prabowo during the activity, including Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Army Chief of Staff General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal TNI Tonny Harjono, and Navy Chief of Staff Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali.
