Prabowo Reveals the 'Coincidence' of the Number 8 Behind the B50 Launch

President Prabowo Subianto has again expounded on the mythology of the number eight, which he considers to bring good fortune. This time, the coincidence of the number eight appeared in the launch of B50 Biosolar, which coincides with the eighth phase of the biodiesel programme, as well as a unique summation of the launch date and month. This was conveyed by Prabowo during his speech at the B50 Biosolar launch at Rest Area Km 57, Karawang, West Java, on Thursday (9/7/2026). Prabowo initially spoke about the uniqueness of the number eight surrounding the momentum of the B50 launch. He stated that the B50 Biosolar launch is the eighth phase of the national biodiesel programme, which began with B2.5 in 2008 and has now successfully reached B50. “And there is also a comment, today is 9 July 2026. July is the 7th month. 9 plus 7 equals 16, 1 plus 6 equals 7, 7 plus 10 equals 17, 1 plus 7 equals 8,” said Prabowo. “Earlier I received a report that from B2.5 in 2008 to B50 in 2026, it went through eight phases. And the B50 phase is the eighth phase launched by the Eighth President,” he continued. Prabowo then joked that the coincidence of the number eight was not something deliberately arranged or engineered. He even recounted that Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia had asked for the B50 launch to be held on 1 July. However, the schedule clashed with the Bhayangkara Day commemoration. “This really happened, because what happened? Earlier he insisted, ‘Sir, 1 July, 1 July’. I said on 1 July I have Bhayangkara Day. ‘It’s okay, Sir, as soon as it’s finished we’ll go straight to Cikampek’. Easy for you to say. I have to stand and receive the parade for a very long time,” said Prabowo, greeted by laughter from the attendees. At the end of his speech, Prabowo again joked about the number eight. He touched on the inauguration of the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives (Kopdes). It is known that 1,061 Merah Putih Kopdes units were inaugurated by Prabowo last May. If these numbers are added together, the result is eight. “If you want to inaugurate cooperatives, wait, we will inaugurate 1,061 cooperatives. Why must it be 1,061? Because 1, 6, 1 equals 8,” he concluded.
