Prabowo Reveals Reasons for Gathering Ministers and SOE Heads for Working Meeting at the Palace

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto delivered briefings at the Government Working Meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026). Beginning his briefing, Prabowo revealed the reasons for holding the meeting. “I deliberately gathered the ministers, agency heads, and officials from the executive branch, including here, all echelon I from ministries/institutions, including SOE directors general. The purpose and objective of this working meeting is an opportunity for me to convey directives,” he stated. “It can be said that for over a year we have been carrying out our mandate as the people’s representatives; since October 2024, we have passed October 2025, one year, and now we are in April, which can be considered one year and six months of implementing our duties,” he continued. He also revealed that the Government Working Meeting would be attended by all members of the Merah Putih Cabinet along with all director generals/deputies and SOE directors general. Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto had outlined the plans for the Government Working Meeting. He said that a previous limited meeting also discussed preparations for that agenda. “Tomorrow, they are asked to present (reports). We’ll see tomorrow (today),” Airlangga said after the limited meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
