Prabowo Reveals Over 3 Million Jobs Created During His Administration
President Prabowo Subianto has revealed that more than 3 million jobs were created during his nearly two years in office. In the first six months of 2026 alone, the government generated 1.4 million jobs. “And we have created 1.4 million jobs,” Prabowo stated during his speech on the Financial Note and the 2027 State Budget Draft at the MPR/DPR Building on Friday, 14 August 2026. The job creation is part of the government’s target to fulfil one of Prabowo’s campaign promises, namely creating 19 million jobs over a five-year term. This target includes labour absorption across various strategic sectors, including approximately 5 million jobs from the green economy sector. In addition to employment, Prabowo noted that investment in Indonesia continues to show growth amid global uncertainty. In the first half of 2026, realised investment reached Rp1,010 trillion. Meanwhile, throughout 2025, investment realisation hit Rp1,931 trillion and was said to have opened around 2.7 million jobs. “Because of our hard work, because of the people’s trust in the government, investment continues to grow amid global uncertainty. Throughout 2025, investment realisation reached Rp1,931 trillion,” he explained. Prabowo also highlighted the global geopolitical situation, which remains marked by conflict and open warfare in both Europe and the Middle East. These conditions have impacted global supply chains. Despite facing various external pressures, Prabowo asserted that Indonesia has managed to maintain its independence and does not rely entirely on foreign supplies.
