President Prabowo Subianto revealed that many countries are currently requesting fertiliser supplies from Indonesia. This is happening amid the impact of the conflict in the Middle East, which is affecting the distribution of energy and raw materials for fertiliser worldwide.

The President mentioned that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the war in the Middle East is impacting global energy supplies, as approximately 20 per cent of the world’s oil passes through this route.

“I have received reports from the Minister of Agriculture that many countries are requesting fertiliser from Indonesia. We are not being euphoric, we are not being arrogant, but we are now in a position to provide assistance,” said Prabowo in Nganjuk, East Java, on Saturday, 16 May 2026.

The President stated that several countries, such as Australia, the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil, have requested fertiliser supplies from Indonesia. “Australia has asked for our help; we are selling 500,000 tons of urea to Australia. The Philippines has also asked us, and so have India, Bangladesh, and Brazil. My instruction is to help them all,” said the President.

In addition to fertiliser, the Head of State said that many countries also want to buy rice from Indonesia. According to Prabowo, this is due to Indonesia’s success in achieving food self-sufficiency and improving the national agricultural sector.

The President also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in the agricultural sector, including the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, and his staff.

“Thank you to all parties. Fortunately, we have a great Minister of Agriculture because he is indeed a farmer’s son,” said President Prabowo.

President Prabowo inaugurated the Marsinah Museum and a rest house in Nglundo Village, Nganjuk Regency, East Java, on Saturday, as a form of respect for the struggle of labourers and a reminder of the history of the labour movement in Indonesia.

“In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. On this Saturday morning, 16 May 2026, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the Marsinah Museum and the Rest House in Nganjuk Regency, East Java Province,” said Prabowo during the inauguration.
