Prabowo Reveals Free Health Check Programme Uncovers Widespread Dental Issues, Dentist Shortage

President Prabowo Subianto has stated that the free health check (CKG) programme has been utilised by more than 130 million people. Through this programme, Prabowo identified numerous health problems that require solutions. “Free health checks, 130,800,000 people. This is the first time. Yes. We check, we know the condition, we know the problems, we know what we have to work on now,” Prabowo said during his briefing at the Plenary Cabinet Session at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (20/7/2026). Prabowo highlighted dental health as one of the citizens’ health issues discovered through the CKG programme. He noted that the findings revealed Indonesia lacks dentists. “It turns out many of our people have toothaches, their teeth are damaged. This means there is a shortage of dentists. But if we didn’t know, what could we do?” he said. Furthermore, Prabowo stated that the state is responsible for providing adequate health service facilities for the community. He therefore asked his ministers not to stop working hard. “The state is responsible for providing adequate health service facilities and public service facilities. Ladies and gentlemen, that is why we run the government by working very hard. I thank all cabinet members,” he said. “Some of you work without supervision, because I have concentrated on important matters over these two years, but I see you taking initiative. Each of you works and together we have achieved accomplishments that I think are quite proud of. Perhaps few governments in the world achieve what we have achieved,” Prabowo continued.
