Prabowo Reveals Discovery of Rp 39 Trillion in 'Idle' Funds from Corruptors
President Prabowo Subianto has revealed that he received a report regarding the discovery of unclear funds amounting to Rp 39 trillion from corruptors and criminals. According to Prabowo, these corruptors’ funds are ‘idle’ in bank accounts. They are suspected to have fled abroad and left the money behind. “I also received a report that there is approximately Rp 39 trillion in unclear funds; the corruptors or criminals might have fled Indonesia or died, leaving the money in unclear accounts,” said Prabowo during the Handover of Administrative Fines at the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday (13/5/2026). Prabowo even joked that the ‘idle’ money was left behind by the corruptors and not claimed by their ‘pets or young wives’. The government has taken over these funds. With the addition of these funds, the government will have an extra Rp 49 trillion next month. “Perhaps he has many young wives or pets, so his wives and pets don’t know about these funds. It has been unclaimed for years and announced for years, so move it for the people. Thus, next month there will be approximately Rp 49 trillion,” said Prabowo.
