Prabowo Reveals Details of Meeting with Trump and 12 US Business Leaders

President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with United States President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the Board of Peace (BoP) summit for Gaza. Prabowo revealed the substance of his discussions with Trump.

“We discussed trade matters between the two countries. The negotiations have been going on for quite some time, and we finally reached a mutually beneficial and mutually respectful outcome. I think it went well,” Prabowo said in Washington DC, as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Saturday (21/2/2026).

Prabowo was among the heads of state who held bilateral meetings with Trump on the sidelines of the Board of Peace summit. He emphasised that the results of the trade negotiations with Trump were quite positive.

“The key point is that we were probably among those who negotiated the longest on trade tariffs. But the results were good,” he said.

In addition, Prabowo also disclosed the substance of his meeting with 12 US business leaders. According to Prabowo, the American executives saw promising opportunities for investment in Indonesia.

“They conveyed that they are very interested in Indonesia. They are confident, they see the business climate continuing to improve. They are positive about our economy,” he added.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya had previously stated that the two leaders were the only ones to conduct a bilateral agreement amid the Board of Peace agenda.

“The President held a bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump. There were more than 15 heads of state and government present yesterday,” Teddy said during a press briefing broadcast on the Cabinet Secretary’s YouTube channel on Friday (20/2).

Teddy explained that Prabowo was the only president to hold a bilateral meeting specifically discussing trade tariffs. He revealed that following the signing of the agreement, the two leaders continued their discussions in a closed-door meeting.

“The only head of state who held a bilateral meeting with President Trump — one of them, and the only one — was President Prabowo,” Teddy said.

Following the bilateral meeting with Trump, Prabowo met with 12 US business leaders in Washington DC. Teddy said the executives had previously collaborated with Danantara Indonesia.
