Prabowo Reveals Challenges in Saving the People's Money
President Prabowo Subianto stated that he is ready to die to defend the people. Prabowo made this statement as he concluded his speech at the handover ceremony of administrative fines and the results of the sixth phase of forest area reclamation, held at the Attorney General’s Office complex on Friday, 10 April 2026.
Prabowo initially saluted the members of the Merah Putih Cabinet ministers and the Forest Area Regulation Task Force (Satgas PKH) for their dedication in saving state finances and assets. Prabowo formed the task force at the beginning of his administration. “Keep fighting, keep fighting. I respect your work,” said Prabowo.
The Head of State briefly stepped down from the podium to give a salute by raising his right hand to his temple to those present. The event participants stood and applauded. After that, Prabowo returned to the podium and stated, “We are ready to die on the right path; defending the people is a very noble task.”
In his speech, Prabowo also emphasised his government’s commitment to securing and saving the people’s money. He claimed that these efforts are not without challenges. “The firmer we are, the more steadfast we become, the more we defend the people, the more we will be opposed, the more we will be attacked. Don’t worry, don’t worry,” said Prabowo.
The former Minister of Defence believes that the people are on the side of the government in efforts to maintain and save state funds. “No matter how many times more, we will prove it. We will not stop, we will not falter, we will keep advancing to defend the nation and the state,” he said.
At the event, President Prabowo witnessed the handover of Rp 11.4 trillion from Satgas PKH to the state treasury. Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin symbolically handed over the total amount of tens of trillions to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. The procession symbolises the return of state money and assets collected by law enforcement to the state treasurer.
According to the Presidential Secretariat, the Rp 11.4 trillion returned to the state treasury comes from various sources. These include the collection of administrative fines in the forestry sector worth Rp 7.23 trillion and non-tax state revenues from handling corruption crimes by the Attorney General’s Office worth Rp 1.96 trillion.
In addition, there are tax receipts for the period January to April 2026 amounting to Rp 967.7 billion, state revenues through tax deposits for the period January-February 2026 from PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara amounting to Rp 108.5 billion, and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) from environmental life fines worth Rp 1.14 trillion.
