Prabowo Reveals BPK Saved Rp112 Trillion in State Funds During MPR Speech

President Prabowo Subianto revealed that the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) is safeguarding every rupiah of public money to ensure it is used correctly and appropriately. Throughout 2025, he stated, the BPK’s audit recommendations resulted in state fund recoveries amounting to Rp112 trillion. This achievement has also bolstered the institution’s global standing. “Global trust in Indonesian auditors has also increased. The BPK has been elected as Chair of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) for the 2028-2031 period and as a member of the United Nations Board of Auditors for the 2026-2032 period,” he said during his State of the Nation Address at the MPR Annual Session on Friday (14/8/2026).

Furthermore, Prabowo reported that from January to June 2026, the Judicial Commission received 1,402 public reports and 622 requests for trial monitoring. The Judicial Commission proposed sanctions for 121 judges proven to have violated the code of ethics, including 14 moderate sanctions and 17 severe sanctions. “We are maintaining the independence of judges. We are improving the standard of living for judges. But independence does not mean without accountability for judges,” he said.

Regarding this matter, Prabowo stated that the government has successfully increased the remuneration of judges. For the most junior judges, their income has risen by 280%. He expressed pride that the income of Indonesian judges is now above the ASEAN average. “The income of the Chief Justice of our Supreme Court is higher than the income of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Singapore,” he said.
