President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that the launch of B50 biodiesel is not merely a milestone for national energy independence, but also delivers a tangible impact on the Indonesian economy, notably through foreign exchange savings of up to Rp 170 trillion. “Today, I would like to thank all elements who have worked hard. Imagine, we can now save foreign exchange outflows of Rp 170 trillion. We are saving 10 billion dollars,” Prabowo said during the B50 launch at the Km 57 Rest Area in Karawang, West Java, on Thursday (9/7/2026).

Furthermore, Prabowo highlighted the vast potential of Indonesia’s other natural resources. He reported that a scientific expedition involving the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), several universities, and supported by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) had recently discovered massive gold and critical mineral reserves in the Papua Mountains. “I also just received a report a few hours ago that our scientific expedition, which I believe has only been working for two or three weeks, in the Papua Mountains—a team from BRIN with several universities assisted by the TNI—has discovered very large gold and critical mineral reserves,” he stated.

Prabowo expressed high optimism for Indonesia’s future, asserting that these achievements and abundant natural wealth must be accompanied by a strong commitment from all elements of the nation to protect the country. This includes stopping corruption, smuggling, narcotics, and online gambling.
