President Prabowo Subianto has revealed that attempts to bribe state officials, including himself, are still occurring. He made these remarks while providing direction during an event for the handover of funds and land recovered by the Forest Area Order Task Force (Satgas PKH) at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Tuesday (6/10/2026).

In his speech, Prabowo emphasised his commitment to eradicating corruption and the looting of state wealth. He also requested that government officials who do not align with this agenda step down from the administration.

“I appreciate that you all have not retreated, have not been intimidated, and have not given up. However, I permit those within this Task Force or within my administration, who do not wish to remain on the right path, to step aside gracefully,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo stated that the current government’s struggle is aimed at defending the interests of the people, particularly those living in economic hardship.

“We fight for those who cannot speak, for those who have nothing. We fight for those who have no homes, and for those who do not know where their breakfast or dinner will come from,” he said.

According to Prabowo, law enforcement efforts and the recovery of state assets will face resistance from parties that have long profited from deviant practices. He even alleged that certain groups with significant financial power use various methods to protect their interests, ranging from social media manipulation to demonstrations.

“Believe that we are on the right path. We do not doubt ourselves. Let them have hundreds of trillions; let them pay buzzers, manipulate algorithms, attack us on social media, or fund protests—we will not be intimidated. We are with the people, and we are prepared to die for the people,” he asserted.

During the occasion, Prabowo also touched upon the issue of integrity among state apparatus. He admitted that bribery remains a serious challenge facing Indonesia.

“We understand that our country is not in a good state. We have seen our institutions being damaged for decades. Our Ministers, our Directors-General, they want to be bribed. Let alone Ministers or Directors-General, even ‘I’ have been targeted for bribes,” revealed Prabantly.

Nevertheless, Prabowo remains optimistic that efforts to reform governance and rescue state assets will yield results. He urged all officials involved in the Forest Area Order Task Force and law enforcement institutions to remain consistent on the right path.

“Believe that truth will prevail,” he concluded.
