Prabowo Reveals 66 Million Households Receive Subsidised LPG
President Prabowo Subianto has revealed the extensive scale of energy subsidies provided by the government, detailing that 66.4 million households receive subsidised LPG. He noted that this figure is twice the number in Malaysia and twelve times that of Singapore. “Subsidised LPG, 66 million households receive LPG subsidies, 66 million 400 thousand households, twice that of Malaysia. Twelve times that of Singapore, not bad for the Indonesian government,” Prabowo stated during a plenary cabinet meeting in Jakarta on Monday. Beyond LPG, the President outlined other energy subsidies, including diesel fuel and electricity, which reach 87 million households. He also mentioned that compensation for Pertalite petrol is enjoyed by nearly 34 million households, at a rate of approximately Rp89,000 per month. “Show me another country like us, there may be greater ones. The Indonesian nation is not bad. Don’t underestimate ourselves, we are strong. We are strong, we are rich, and we will be richer,” he said.
