Prabowo Reunites with Former Aides from His TNI Days 30 Years Ago

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto held a warm gathering with former aides and bodyguards who had accompanied him during his service in the TNI 30 years ago. Secretary to the Cabinet (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya said the meeting took place at the President’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, on Sunday, 8 March 2026.

“President Prabowo Subianto called and sat down with all his former aides and bodyguards who served him during his time in Kostrad and Kopassus, or when he was still active in the TNI 30 years ago. The gathering took place at the President’s private residence in Hambalang on Sunday, 8 March 2026,” Teddy said in a Setpres briefing.

Some of them are still serving as TNI soldiers, while others have entered retirement.

“Some of the aides and bodyguards are still active in the TNI today. Some have already retired but are employed by his private company,” he added.

In a cordial atmosphere, the former bodyguards also shared stories of their life journeys.

“Not only that. One of them also recounted that the son, whom the President funded his education, is now a graduate and has secured employment,” Teddy added.
