Prabowo Returns to Jakarta After Concluding Paris State Visit

The departure ceremony was conducted with solemnity as a gesture of respect from the French Republic to the Indonesian Head of State. President Prabowo Subianto departed for Jakarta after completing his state visit to Paris, France, from 27 to 29 May 2026. At Paris’ Orly Airport on Friday local time, Garuda Indonesia flight PK-GIF took off for Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta. Accompanying the President on the flight to Jakarta were a limited delegation, including Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The Presidential Secretariat confirmed in a statement on Friday night that President Prabowo’s departure from Orly Airport was marked by a military ceremony. He received military honours from a guard of honour standing on either side of the red carpet. Other officials bidding farewell to President Prabowo included France’s Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone, Indonesia’s Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, and Defence Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, Air Marshal First Class Hendra Gunawan. ‘The departure ceremony was conducted with solemnity as a gesture of respect from the French Republic to the Indonesian Head of State,’ according to the Presidential Secretariat’s official statement. Following this, President Prabowo attended a state dinner hosted by President Macron at the Salle des Fêtes in the Élysée Palace. During his state visit, President Prabowo also performed the Eid al-Adha prayer with Indonesian citizens and the diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris.
