President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, arrived back in the country after completing a series of official state working visits to Japan and South Korea. Prabowo and his entourage landed at the TNI AU Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in the early hours of Thursday (2/4).

His arrival was welcomed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of the State Intelligence Agency Muhammad Herindra.

During his stay in Japan, Prabowo carried out several important agendas, including a meeting with the Emperor of Japan and a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan.

On that occasion, the two countries discussed strengthening strategic partnerships and enhancing cooperation in various priority sectors, including investment, energy, and the digital economy.

Prabowo also attended the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum, which brought together the government with business actors and investors. From this agenda, business commitments worth US$23.63 billion or approximately Rp 401.7 trillion were recorded.

The visit continued to South Korea, where Prabowo held a bilateral meeting with President Lee Jae Myung at the Presidential Palace Cheong Wa Dae. The two leaders agreed to expand cooperation in various strategic sectors.

In that meeting, Prabowo also directly witnessed the announcement and exchange of 10 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) as part of efforts to strengthen the continuously developing and long-term oriented strategic partnership between the two countries, covering priority sectors such as the economy, digital, energy, to future industries. The total business commitments from that reached US$10.2 billion or equivalent to Rp 174 trillion.

Overall, the total business commitments from the two countries reached US$33.89 billion or around Rp 575 trillion. Prabowo’s state visit to Japan and South Korea is part of the Indonesian government’s efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations and encourage increased strategic cooperation in various fields.
