Prabowo Returns to Indonesia After State Visit to France
JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto has concluded his official state visit to Paris, France, on Friday, 29 May 2026. According to the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo departed from Paris Orly Airport bound for Jakarta. Upon arrival at Orly Airport, he received a military guard of honour comprising 21 personnel positioned on either side of the red carpet. At the aircraft steps, he was farewelled by several officials, including French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone, Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, and Indonesian Defence Attaché in Paris, Air Vice Marshal Hendra Gunawan. Prabowo began his agenda with a state welcoming ceremony at Les Invalides and a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. Additionally, he attended a state dinner hosted by Macron at the Salle des Fêtes in the Élysée Palace. The state visit underscores Indonesia’s commitment to active diplomacy and expanding strategic cooperation with European allies. Accompanying President Prabowo on the return flight to Jakarta were Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
