JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - President Prabowo Subianto has returned to Indonesia after a state visit to Japan and South Korea. Prabowo and the delegation reportedly arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/4/2026) at 23.55 WIB.

Prabowo’s arrival was directly welcomed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of the State Intelligence Agency Muhammad Herindra.

The Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia reported that Prabowo’s visit to Japan on 29-30 March and to South Korea on 31 March-1 April resulted in investment commitments worth Rp575 trillion.

During the visit to Japan, the President met with Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. Prabowo also attended a business forum that reportedly produced several agreements worth a total of $23.63 billion or approximately Rp401.71 trillion.

The value of investment commitments from the series of MoUs reportedly reached $10.268 billion or around Rp174 trillion.

The Cabinet Secretariat described Prabowo’s visits to Japan and South Korea as a form of successful economic diplomacy while strengthening Indonesia’s position as a strategic partner in Asia.

“These achievements are expected to be promptly followed up into concrete investment realisations that drive job creation, strengthening of the national industry, and improvement in public welfare,” stated the Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia on Thursday (2/4/2026).
