Prabowo returns from France with Rp61 trillion business contracts for Indonesia
JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto’s working visit to France has yielded positive results. Four commercial agreements worth US$3.5 billion (Rp61.25 trillion) were signed during the trip.
The Indonesian Government Communication Bureau (Bakom) revealed the agreements were reached during the launch of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council on 28 May 2026.
Investment and Downstreaming Minister and BKPM Head Rosan Roeslani said the high-level business forum was more than just a ceremonial event and business dialogue platform.
“This forum also serves as a catalyst to drive investment, trade, and strategic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both nations,” said Rosan.
The council’s launch took place in the presence of President Prabowo and French President Emmanuel Macron, bringing together 30 company leaders from both countries with a combined market capitalisation of US$1.3 trillion.
The council is co-chaired by Danone CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique for France and Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Bakrie for Indonesia.
Rosan expressed optimism that French investor confidence in Indonesia continues to strengthen, adding that the agreements demonstrate Indonesia’s concrete standing in the global business community.
“The agreements show Indonesia is viewed as a strategic partner with long-term growth prospects and a more competitive investment climate,” he stressed.
Moving forward, the Indonesia-France Business Council aims to triple bilateral trade by 2035 through strengthened cooperation between Kadin Indonesia and MEDEF International.
