President Prabowo Subianto has returned to Indonesia following a state visit to France, bringing back cooperation agreements worth Rp61.25 trillion.

According to the Indonesian Government Communication Bureau (Bakom) on Saturday (30 May 2026), Indonesia and France have strengthened cooperation across strategic sectors including economy, investment, trade, and defence.

A key outcome of the visit was the launch of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council, bringing together business leaders from both nations, which resulted in several new commercial agreements.

The council’s launch yielded four new commercial agreements worth $3.5 billion (Rp61.25 trillion at a rate of Rp17,500 per dollar), focused on energy security, trade, and defence cooperation, according to Bakom.

Beyond official engagements, Prabowo also met with the Indonesian diaspora in Paris, including attending Eid al-Adha prayers with the community. His return marks the conclusion of the state visit to France.

Strengthening Economic Partnership

Investment and Hilirisasi Minister and BKPM Chief Rosan Roeslani welcomed the establishment of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council, describing it as a crucial step in strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

The council’s inauguration took place on 28 May 2026, witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

“This forum serves not only as a platform for business dialogue but also as a catalyst for driving investment, trade, and strategic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both countries,” Rosan stated in a written release from the Media and Information Bureau.

The forum brought together 30 leading business and industry executives from both countries, with a combined market capitalisation of $1.3 trillion. It is co-chaired by MEDEF International’s France-Indonesia Business Council Chair and Danone CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique, alongside Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Bakrie.

According to Rosan, the council’s launch also resulted in four new commercial agreements totalling $3.5 billion, covering energy security, trade, and defence cooperation.

“French business confidence in Indonesia continues to grow. The agreements demonstrate that Indonesia is viewed as a strategic partner with strong long-term growth prospects and a more competitive investment climate,” Rosan added.

As seen in a live stream on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, President Prabowo’s Garuda Indonesia flight GA-1 landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Base Ops in Jakarta this morning, with him disembarking around 10:19 am WIB.

He was greeted by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces General Tandyo Budi Revita. Prabowo briefly conversed with them.
