Prabowo: Respect for All Global Powers Maintains Indonesia's Peace
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia’s stance of respecting all nations and forces globally is a key factor enabling the country to maintain peace amid an increasingly uncertain geopolitical situation.
The President made this statement during a virtual inauguration of 218 bridges across various regions, broadcast from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel in Jakarta on Monday afternoon.
“Unity in diversity within our borders, but also abroad we respect all nations, all races, all ethnic groups. This is what enables Indonesia to enjoy peaceful conditions,” the President said.
During the event, the President referenced current global conditions marked by various conflicts, including war in Europe, particularly in Ukraine, and escalating tensions in the Middle East region.
According to the President, these conditions demonstrate that the global situation faces significant challenges.
“Recently, we recognised that there is war in Europe, in Ukraine. Now, almost the entire Middle East is affected. Although we are far away, what happens in one region will have an impact,” he stated.
“Our nation is on the right path, on a non-aligned, non-bloc path. We respect all nations, that is Indonesia,” he said.
President Prabowo assessed that this mutual respect serves as Indonesia’s strength in maintaining stability and harmony amid societal diversity.
The President noted that with hundreds of ethnic groups coexisting, the Indonesian nation has proven capable of maintaining unity and working together when facing challenges.
The President stated that this spirit of unity is evident when communities from various regions, from Sumatra to Kalimantan and Java, unite to assist one another during disasters or difficulties in particular areas.
According to the President, this national solidarity represents an important asset for Indonesia to continue maintaining stability and accelerating development across various regions.
