President Prabowo Subianto has removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). In addition to Dadan, Prabowo also dismissed two Deputy Heads of the BGN, Lodewijk Pusung and Sony Sanjaya.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that the dismissal of these three BGN officials pertained to disciplinary issues. He revealed that these records included problems regarding discipline in implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as issues with governance discipline and maintaining the food quality standards established by the BGN.

“Following 1.5 years of monitoring and evaluation, many recorded issues served as the President’s basis for considering this replacement,” Prasetyo stated at the Presidential Office on Tuesday (2/6/2026).

Regarding the future of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme amidst this leadership change, Prasetyo emphasised that the process would not impact the programme’s implementation. “The government affirms that this change in leadership will not disrupt the execution of the MBG programme managed by the BGN,” said Prasetyor.

He added that the reshuffle is expected to be a positive step for the delivery of the MBG programme, ensuring it runs optimally. Furthermore, he noted that the programme serves as a manifesto of the government’s commitment and is hoped to act as a driver for the national economy.

“On this occasion, we also convey that the government ensures that throughout the evaluation process, all BGN programmes will continue as normal. Public services must not be disrupted, and every work unit must operate according to its respective responsibilities,” Prasetyo added.

Nanik S. Deyang to Replace Dadan

In the announcement, Prasetyo revealed the new leadership for the BGN. “Today, Tuesday, 2nd June 2026, the President has made the decision to replace the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency. Firstly, regarding Mr Dadan Hindayana as Head of the BGN,”

“The President has decided to appoint Ms Nanik S. Deyang as the new Head of the BGN,” Prasetyo continued. Meanwhile, Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono have been appointed as the new Deputy Heads of the BGN.

“We hope that the three new BGN leaders will immediately undertake internal consolidation, strengthen cross-ministerial/agency coordination, enhance coordination with provincial and regency/city governments, and ensure that all BGN programmes continue to run as effectively as possible,” said Prasetyo.
