Prabowo Reshuffles BGN Leadership, MBG Foundation Alliance Calls for 'Nutrition Revolution' Consolidation

Chairman of the Nusantara MBG Foundation Alliance, Bungas T Fernando Duling, has expressed full support for the leadership reshuffle within the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) carried out by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. According to him, the reshuffle, occurring after Pancasila Day, must serve as a momentum to reinvigorate the constitutional spirit within the institution’s governance. Furthermore, Prabowo’s recent speech regarding the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme is viewed as a new chapter affirming the state’s consistency in achieving social justice. Bungas stated that the nutritional transformation through the MBG programme managed by BGN must not merely become an economic commodity in the future. Instead, it should be a tangible manifestation of the Fifth Principle of Pancasila and Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. “The President’s speech on 3 June 2026 in Sentul, Bogor, is a concrete manifestation of the state’s presence. We interpret this message as a call for a ‘Nutrition Revolution’ that must immediately be consolidated,” Bungas said in a statement on Friday, 5 June 2026. Bungas, who also serves as Secretary General of the Central Executive Board of People’s Advocacy for the Nusantara (ARUN), also declared his full support for an equitable moratorium policy in the zoning arrangement of Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG). According to him, strict spacing arrangements between SPPG kitchens in accordance with technical guidelines are crucial for the principle of equitable distribution. “This measure is expected to give birth to a new face of the BGN based on accurate data, so that ideal SPPG arrangements will produce real-time growth data for the nation’s generation. This integrated nutrition data system will become an important foundation for mapping nutritional interventions towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision,” he stressed. As a form of participatory oversight to ensure this national strategic programme runs purely as a public nutrition transformation and not merely a commercial project, the Nusantara MBG Foundation Alliance announced it will open its doors wide to academics and students. They are invited to conduct in-depth research and live-in programmes within the Alliance’s SPPG kitchen network. Furthermore, he specifically called on all ARUN cadres, the Nusantara MBG Foundation Alliance, and KARAT (Territorial People’s Action Committee) to close ranks. These three elements are asked to fully commit and move together to stand firmly as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Indonesian President in the field.
